Every watch that leaves my hands carries a trace of that journey — the search for the right look, the hard work, the setbacks and the stubborn passion. My name is Urban Klajderič, and this is the story of Ure po meri.
May 2024. The night that changed everything.
Like most people, I was scrolling on my phone in the middle of the night when I saw a watch with an Arabic dial. I looked for it everywhere — online shops, forums, Reddit, Instagram. Nothing was quite it.
That was when I found the “watch modding” community — a world of people who do not buy watches off a shelf but build them themselves. It struck me: why not simply build my dream watch myself?
I assembled my first watch on the kitchen table. The first time I wound the movement and the watch came alive, I knew this was something special. It was entirely mine.
That night lit the spark: what if I shared this passion with others?
Every maker's worst nightmare.
Losing everything I had built over months hit hard. I lost momentum and asked myself why I should carry on at all. By the end of the year I was sure my story was over.
But the watches did not go away. The passion for mechanics and detail stayed. I knew I could not simply stop.
Not every defeat is an ending. Some are just the ground for something better.
UPM today is not merely a restart. It is a complete transformation. We gave ourselves our own 3D metal logo, built a clean, independent identity and raised the level of the design. All of it with one purpose — for you.
No watch is pre-assembled for the crowd. As the founder, I still assemble every watch myself. Every screw and every detail passes through my hands — with dependable Japanese movements and materials that stand the test of time.
You do not just wear a watch on your wrist. You wear a decision. And when someone asks — “Where did you get it?” — you will have an answer that cannot be bought in any ordinary shop.
